Return on Objectives/Return on Investment monitoring and analysis.
In today’s world everyone should expect and plan to achieve a return on their event expenditure. Setting and agreeing event objectives is at the core of what we try and do for every event. We work to the Phillips Methodology – an internationally acclaimed means to evaluate event effectiveness. There is a ten point process aimed at determining the full ROI of an event and we are happy to share this with our clients. However, in the vast majority of cases it is not necessary to go to the full extent of measuring the precise ROI. Instead, it is possible to evaluate the degree to which the event objectives have been met to assess the event effectiveness – we can happily recommend event evaluation techniques and plans in this respect. If the event objectives are clearly communicated to all stakeholders and everyone is working towards achieving them then there is every likelihood a successful outcome will be achieved.
Key to this can be working with clients to maximise delegate engagement opportunities because the more effective an event or meeting is in this respect the better the return on objectives will be. We recognise an event is part of an ongoing communications journey not just a one off trip so the more that can be done in terms of pre and post event communications the better the results will be.
Finally we do not forget that the event costs are a key component of the ROI equation and clearly negotiating delivering cost savings and managing budgets tightly are vital in this respect. This is something we pride ourselves in managing every step of the way.
